Stunning 19th century French butchers block in the original paint finish. The piece is decorated with wonderful cast bull heads and a carved shell motif to the upstand, and a lovely shaped apron and turned legs to the base. The 7.5″ thick worktop shows great age and undulations from years of use. This butchers block with made by Trussant & Cie for a restaraunt in the Sainte-Livrade region of Lot-et-Garonne in the south of France. 1860. Height to the worktop is 33″.
