A unique, authentic chest table from the first half of the 20th century.
This piece of furniture features a simple, country-style design, crafted from solid wood (pine/spruce). A distinctive detail – the rear edge of the tabletop features a practical groove (gutter) for retaining flour, crumbs, or liquids during kitchen work.
The inside of the chest retains a handwritten ink signature: “Schröder J.” – most likely the German owner of the farm from before World War II. This adds exceptional historical and collectible value to the piece.
Dimensions:
• Width: 130 cm
• Depth: 55 cm
• Height: 80 cm
• Clearance from floor to chest: 63 cm
Condition: Original, with visible signs of age. Everything was cleaned from the inside, under the floor, and out, removing dust, dirt, and a thin layer of old faux fur, while maintaining its original appearance. It is now ready for use in its current form (rustic “shabby chic”).
