Design by Knoll Studio, produced to Mies’ original specifications. Exclusive manufacturing and sales rights were granted to Knoll by the designer in 1953. AWARD: Museum of Modern Art Award, New York, 1977. Designed in 1930, the Barcelona daybed shares the same simple elegance as the iconic armchair of the same name. A great classic of twentieth-century Bauhaus furniture, of which the designer was director of the school. Timeless. A 100-year-old design as modern as ever. Walnut frame with 11 leather straps for mattress suspension. Polished chrome-plated tubular steel legs. Foam mattress upholstered with 72 squares of hand-cut and sewn leather. Removable, adjustable bolster. Exceptional craftsmanship. Knoll embossed on the frame, on one of the legs and Knoll logos on the fabric of the underside of the mattress. Excellent overall condition.
