Pamono English Walnut Davenport Secretaire, 1800s New

Small Secretaire, Victorian period, in Walnut Burr.
This piece of furniture is in two parts: in the upper part, a desk, surmounted by an inkwell space, which reveals a locker, and in the lower part, a desk with multiple storage spaces.
An inclined flap, opening with a key, reveals a Lemon Wood interior with four niches and four false drawers with Rosewood knobs. The Writing area is lined with Brown Leather with a Central Label and Golden Friezes on the periphery.
This desk is topped with an ogee inkwell which, once opened with its small Original key, reveals Mahogany compartments of different sizes.
The Writing part, and its front with movements, are supported by two feet in solid Walnut with a pronounced curve. They are Generously Carved with Foliage and finished in Rolls.
The right side of the cabinet is formed by four drawers of identical dimensions. Each of them has two round pull knobs and a functional lock with its key. Note that the interiors of these drawers are in solid Mahogany.
The left side panel appears to be of the same design, but the drawers are in fact fake.
The set rests on a base, itself installed on four Boules feet. The latter are equipped with discreet casters, making it even easier to move this already easy-to-handle desk.
The Davenport, once appreciated in England by the Royal Navy for its multifunctionality, can also be chosen today as a small piece of furniture. It should be emphasized that the one presented here has the particularity of being made of Light Wood, which is quite unusual.
