This pair of haberdashery counters was produced in oak during the 1960s. Each piece combines two functions: one side features a glass display case with sliding doors, while the other offers practical storage through multiple drawers. The glass panels are inscribed with “Companhia da Linha Coats & Clark, Lda.”, a reference to the renowned Scottish-American company founded in 1750, which opened its Portuguese factory in Vila Nova de Gaia in 1905.

These counters are authentic examples of mid-century industrial furniture, designed for heavy daily use but imbued with unique character. They have been partially restored in the iron frame and legs, ensuring stability while preserving their vintage patina.

Both pieces remain in good condition, structurally sound, with visible signs of age and use consistent with their history. They are fully functional and ideal for use in a retail environment, or as striking statement pieces in a residential interior.
