Alpine folk chest in fir wood, hand-painted and dating back to the early 19th century.
The solid structure rests on four turned feet and features a front divided into two rectangular panels decorated with stylized floral motifs: red tulips and blue flowers, symbols of prosperity, fertility, and renewal.
The turquoise ground, framed with brick-red borders, enhances the brightness of the piece, while the lid preserves the warm patina of aged natural wood.
At the center lies the original wrought iron lock, underlining both function and authenticity.
This chest, beyond its practical storage role, conveys strong symbolic and decorative value, reflecting the identity and traditions of Alpine households.
