Gabriele Mucchi fought as a partisan with the anti-fascist Brigate Garibaldi during the Second World War. After the war he lived for many years in East Berlin, where he worked as a professor at the Berlin Weissensee Art School.
The artist is considered a co-founder of “New Realism” (Nuovo Realismo), whose works are exhibited in numerous renowned museums.
