This small piece of furniture opens on the front with a discreet flap, with brass hinges and clasps on the sides. It protects a very soft Marble of Grège color. At the back, there is a removable element in solid Mahogany, with cavities of different diameters and depths, initially to store beauty products.
Underneath, this Powder Cabinet offers two identical trays with high edges, thus avoiding that the accessories that could be found there fall out of the cabinet.
The whole is maintained by very thin uprights whose feet are turned into spindle, in the Louis XVI taste.
This piece of furniture is assembled with a “Queue d’Aronde”, and the stamp “Escalier de Cristal Paris” under its last plate attests that it benefited from a Great Quality of Work and Wood. Indeed, it is in 1870 that the French House extends its manufacture to the Furniture, mainly copies of the XVIIIth, of such a Precision of Execution that they are regularly confused with the originals.
Period : End of XIXth century
Excellent condition. Varnished finish.
