Design: Herbert Selldorf, Günther Ferdinand Ris
Manufacturer: Rosenthal, Germany
Outer shell material: fiberglass
Together, Herbert Selldorf and Günther F. Ris created the Sunball in 1968, which was produced and sold in exclusive small series in the following years. These rare pieces are sought after today. We received this Sunball directly from Rosenthal’s attic and then restored it.
The rotating construction – many people don’t know that the Sunball can be rotated – is made of painted fiberglass and can be opened continuously. The foot section can be folded so that the upper shells can be closed. Inside, the Sunball has two swiveling tables, a device for installing a radio and a compartment for magazines or the like. The upholstery was professionally covered with a very high-quality fabric from Kvadrat and is in perfect condition. The outer shells have also been carefully redesigned. The Sunball is therefore in very good condition. All mechanisms, including the rotating function, work perfectly.
A must for design connoisseurs: A timeless vintage classic for the discerning!
