Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern 5 bay shelving system model Cado with back panels. This is a original vintage floating bookcase designed by Danish architect Poul Cadovius.
Cadovius had the revolutionary idea to design a floating, modular shelving system that would maximize floor space and signify the end of conformity in shelving. He first designed the model Royal with brass shelf brackets and a few years later the model Cado with wooden shelf brackets. He also named the company Cado.
Versatile and flexible floating bookcase that allows for continuous rearranging to suit individual needs. Cabinets and shelves can be placed as desired. Here is an example where the four cabinets have been placed as a long sideboard. Suitable for both living room, home office or library.
This large and impressive Poul Cadovius wall unit features a display cabinet with glass doors and shelf, two chest of drawers with four drawers each, two cabinets with hinged doors and an adjustable shelf. Lastly there are nine deep shelves. All in very beautiful and expressive rosewood veneer. A truly rare and exquisite wall system.
